DRESS REGULATION NOTES

Where pupils are without the specified clothing as appropriate, the Housemaster/Housemistress will issue order forms for the purchase of items.

  1. School Tracksuit: Pupils going to and from PE and Theatre Studies lessons may wear the School Tracksuit. For all Games/Activities pupils should wear appropriate School kit including the School Tracksuit.
  2. Name Tapes: Each article must be clearly marked with a name tape with a pupil's initials, surname in full and House (S, W, A, I, K, T, E, G, D, F, M).  (It is particularly important that towels and duvet covers are properly marked).  Omissions will be rectified at School and a charge of 25p per article made. For example, the name tape for G H Johnson in School House should read:

G H JOHNSON, S

  1. Informal Dress: Casual clothes may be worn at times specified by the Headmaster, the Housemaster /Housemistress. Since storage space is very limited, it would be appreciated if the amount is kept to a minimum.
  2. Raincoat/Overcoat: A warm, rainproof garment is required for everyday use.  Extremes of fashion are not acceptable.  A good quality plain anorak may be worn instead.
  3. Hats: No hats are to be worn except when necessary as a protection from the weather.  Baseball caps are not permitted with School Dress, or indoors.
  4. Earrings: For safety reasons, girls are only allowed to wear plain studs or sleeper earrings and these must not be worn during games or PE.  Boys are not allowed to wear earrings.
  5. 7. Linen for Boarders: Most boarders prefer to bring their own duvet and pillow to School which must have covers/cases that are coloured or patterned, not plain white, and the duvet cover fasteners must be poppers, not buttons.  Two duvet covers are needed.  All of these items should be named.  If a boarder is unable to bring his/her own duvet and pillow, the School will provide both.  School duvets are usually filled with synthetic fibres and pillows are often feather filled.
  6. 8. Summer Term: As an alternative to normal dress, pupils may wear the School navy polo shirt with or without the School navy v-neck pullover.
  7. 9. Identification of Games Clothing: In order to be able to identify the ownership of games clothing more readily, and to prevent illicit "borrowing", we are asking Parents to mark shirts/tops and skirts, shorts/trousers with a large name label sewn on the inside of the neck or waistband of each garment. PLEASE USE CASH'S NAME TAPES (STYLE No 18) OR NAME TAPES FROM SCHOOL SHOP (SIZE 4)

WITH RED LETTERING ON A WHITE BACKGROUND.
